Push packaging

The Destination profile provides information for push packaging.

Some Destination profiles are off-the-shelf profiles with names like Akamai, Limelight, (both Origin/CDN vendor names), and ATS (Standard for vendor packaging). They come with a host of locked specifications, designed by Harmonic engineers.

When clicking on a Destination profile, the profile definition screen appears. It has been split into two parts:

The Panels - Located on the left, contains all packages included in the service profile.
The Fields - Located on the right, contains all fields for each package. These fields are the detailed settings for each package.

NOTE: We recommend that if you consider changing the profile, to change the packages only.

You can use the Lab wizard app to preview, customize, and delete a Destination profile.

When you log in into VOS, VOS Cloud Service Profiles are available for you, based on the information you have provided during the initial VOS setup. The profiles can be previewed, customized, and deleted in the Lab wizard app.

The workflow described here is a common workflow on how to customize a Destination profile. In this workflow, you are presented with the Akamai profile.

NOTE: If you do not make changes to the profile, go to step 5 and continue with the testing (recommended) and validation.

  1. From the Launchpad or drop-down list, click the Lab wizard app icon.
  2. Click the Destination profile that you want to customize.
  3. Click +.
  4. Select MSS
  5. After making all changes, click Save As Version and the customized version with a new version number is created.

Validate a customized Destination profile to certify that a correct package of video/audio streams can be sent to your customer.

The workflow described here is a common workflow on how to validate a Destination profile.

  1. In the customized Destination profile, click Validate the profile. The profile shows the word "Validated".

The next step is to configure a service, using the validated profile.
