Handling the Multiscreen profile in Lab wizard

The Multiscreen profile screen sets up your video/audio streams for multiple outputs.

When clicking on a Multiscreen profile, the profile definition screen appears. It has been split into two parts:

The Panels - Located on the left, contains all panels included in the service profile 
The Fields - Located on the right, contains all profiles and fields for each panel

NOTE: We recommend that if you consider changing the profile, to change the setting in the Panels only.

Customization

You can use the Lab wizard app to preview, customize, and delete a Multiscreen profile.

When you log in into VOS, VOS Cloud Service Profiles are available for you, based on the information you have provided during the initial VOS setup. The profiles can be previewed, customized, and deleted in the Lab wizard app.

The workflow described here is a common workflow on how to customize a Multiscreen profile. In this workflow, you are presented with the Multiscreen HD profile.

NOTE: If you do not make changes to the profile, go to step 5 and continue with the testing (recommended) and validation.

  1. From the Launchpad or drop-down list, click the Lab wizard app icon.
  2. Click the Multiscreen profile that you want to customize.
  3. Use the Slider in the Video section to define the bandwidth. The right side shows the relevant recommended output profiles. You can edit them individually.

  5. Click the Audio drop-down menu to make sure a specific language is available.

    NOTE: If the required language is not available, go to the relevant input source, click groom, remove or add the audio language.

  7. After making all changes, click Save As Version and the customized version with a new version number is created.

Testing and validating


Test and validate a customized Multiscreen profile to certify that correct video/audio streams can be sent to your customer.

The workflow described here is a common workflow on how to test and validate a Multiscreen profile. After the validation, you can view the profile and use it to configure a Service. Use the customized Multiscreen HD profile.

NOTE: The following values are examples: The original Multiscreen HD profile v.2.0 is linked to service Harmonic Desk (HD) and its destination is DVLabs with IP Address 123.45.678.90.
NOTE: If you do not want to test the profile, go to step 6 to validate it.

Before you begin, make sure you have set up a test channel as destination in the Configuration app.
  1. Click Test.
  2. Select Source. Example: HD

  4. Click Next.
  5. Select Destination. Example: DVLabs with IP Address 123.45.678.90

  7. Click Next.
  8. Test the channel by reviewing and customizing the service on the screen.

  10. After the channel is tested, click Commit.
  11. When you return to the tested profile on the Lab wizard Profile tab, click Validate the profile. The profile shows the word "Validated".
The next step is to configure a service, using the validated profile.
