This article describe the components needed to build a demo system for VOS Cloud. For a basic demo/POC system we recommend to use OpenStack RDO as the deployment environment.
After you have the RDO OpenStack deployment environment ready, and you downloaded the HEAT template from VOS HUB, you now need to create your VOS node size.

As a reminder, VOS Cloud require minimum of 3 nodes in order to build a cluster.

To build a POC / Demo system you will need the following components:

1. OpenStack RDO - Controllers and network nodes:
  • CPU:  1 Physical CPU minimum (4 cores recommended)
  • RAM:  8 - 16GB
  • Storage:  250GB
  • Network addapter:  1000Mbps Network Adapter: Intel, Broadcom, or Realtek
based NIC recommended. For blade systems, HP, Dell,
Cisco, Huawei, or Supermicro should have drivers available for their custom NICs
2. VOS Cloud cluster - Dual CPU machines, Running on Compute nodes
  • CPU version: E5-2697v3 or above
  • RAM: 128 GB
  • Storage: 300GB or more
  • Network card: 1Gbps or more
3. VOS Cloudlink application - Running on an appliance outside of the OpenStack environment, connecter to the Video Multicast network
  • CPU version: E5-2697v2 or above
  • RAM: 64 GB or more
  • Storage: 300GB or more
  • Network card: 1Gbps or more, 2 NICs
