You can use the Lab wizard app to preview, customize, and delete an IPTV profile.

When you log in into VOS, VOS Cloud Service Profiles are available for you, based on the information you provided during the initial VOS setup process. The profiles can be previewed, customized, and deleted in the Lab wizard app.

The workflow described here is a workflow for experts on how to customize an IPTV profile. In this workflow, you are presented with the Harmonic IPTV SD 29.97 Service Profile. Customizations are Video Latency, Video Bitrate, Encoding Profile, Video VQ Mode, and Audio Channel for the currently selected Set-top box.

NOTE: Avoid making changes in the left panel or in fields, as this may affect other panel content or fields. A validation is automatically made and when there is an issue, a message is shown.
NOTE: If you do not make changes to the profile, go to step 9 and continue with the testing (recommended) and validation.

  1. From the Launchpad or drop-down list, click the Lab wizard app icon.
  2. Click the IPTV profile that you want to customize. The IPTV profile page is vertically divided into two parts: On the left side all panels included in the Service Profile and on the right side all fields for each panel.
  3. Select the Video panel on the left.
  4. Select the (Video) Latency value on the right and make changes. Example: Change 3.5 seconds to 5.5 seconds.
  5. Select the Video Bitrate value on the right and make changes. Example: Change 1.5 ~ 2.17 Mbps to 2 Mbps.
  6. Select the Encoding Profile value on the right and make changes. Example: Change High to Main.
  7. Select the Video VQ Mode value on the right and make changes. Example: Change High VQ to Automatic.
NOTE: High VQ uses x86 transcoding and Automatic uses GPU (better video quality than x86) and only when it won't find a suitable GPU, it falls back to x86.
  8. Select the Audio panel on the left and change the value of the Channels (also on the left). Example: Change Stereo (s) to Passthrough.
  9. When all changes are made, click Save As Version and the customized version with a new version number is created.
